The conference races for 1st place have clarified. Both GDE and the Legends have commanding leads for 1st

place in the National and American divisions respectively.   PVB and W2W also have big leads for 2nd place

in these divisions and unless both totally collapse will remain there.

In the National league the U and 3JT are in a virtual tie for 3rd place, with the loser to face GDE in the best

of 3 Wild Card playoff series, or if the Paints cannot field a team, the 4th place team to transfer to the

American league to play W2W in the Wild Card playoff series.   In this scenario, both GDE and the Legends

will receive 1st round byes as they wait the PVB / 3rd place finisher series and the W2W / 4th place finisher.

Gookie Dawkins Experience

The Gookie Dawkins Experience had another good night.  They continue to find ways to win in close games,

beating conference foes the  and PVB in narrow games before putting up big numbers against these teams

in the nightcap rematch games.  Witht the undefeated night GDE moved into first place with most wins and

best record in the league. 

Pleasant Valley Boys

The Pleasant Valley Boys had another good night - despite only playing with 3 for 2 games.   PVB solidifed

their hold on 2nd place by beating conference foe the U twice.   Dave Fisher had another big night with 11 HRs

to accompany his 23 RBIs.

The U

The U had a strange night.  They are getting better, and suffered close defeats to 3JT, GDE and PVB before

breaking through and beating the Legends.  Brent had a big night with 9 HRs and 21 RBIs and Shondrick had

his best night of the year smashing 10 HRs and 21 RBIs. 

3 J’s and a T

3JT returned to winning ways, going 3-2 for the weekend, defeating the Paints twice and conference foe the U,

to climb back into a virtual tie with the U for 3rd place in the National league.  Janae returned to have a big

night for 3JT, homering 6 times and driving in 12 RBIs, while Tim Beavers had his best night to date, smashing

5 HRs while driving in 8 RBIs.

Legends

The Legends struggled this weekend, doubling their loss count for the year and falling from their perch with

most wins in the league, losing 1 run games to both the Paints and the U - their first conference loss and the

2nd time they have lost to the U this season.  Ben Cydrus and Phil King picked up pitching victories while

Jerry Driggs led the Legends at the plate delivering 14 HRs and 23 RBIs.  Ben Cydrus added 8 HRs and 14

RBIs while Levi "Crush" Driggs continued his bid for top 5 honors with 7 HRS and 14 RBIs.  The Legends

have a big final week, with huge games against GDE, W2W and a final game against their nemesis the U.

Wall-2-Wall

Wall 2 Wall had a very difficult weekend, as they played without their statistical leader Eric Young.  They

suffered losses to conference foes the Legends and the Paints and non conference foe the U.  Despite the

difficult weekend, W2W maintains a 3 game lead over 3rd place conference foe the Paints with 4 games

left to play.   Nathaniel Sprouse picked up much of the slack for W2W, crushing a personal best 7 HRs

and driving in 13 RBIs.

Paints

The Paints resumed league play and had a strange night, defeating conference leader the Legends and 2nd

place W2W, but losing to non conference foes 3JT and the U.  The Paints are currently in 3rd place in the

American league, 3 games behind W2W with 4 to play.

                                                          Brent Hoover of The "U"

Brent Hoover continued his excellent year, smashing 10 HRs and driving in 21 runs in only 3 games, and also

picking up a pitching victory against the league leading Legends.  Brent has been on a steady increasing climb

toward the top of the statistical leader board and is establishing himself as one of the best players in the league.

Receiving honorable mention this week is Shondrick Locklear who crushed 10 HRs and drove in 21 RBIs, Dave

Fisher who hammered 11 HRs and drove in 23 RBIs, Andy Russell who helped the GDE to their 14th straight win

by crushing 14 HRs and driving in 27 RBIs and Jerry Driggs who delivered 14 HRS while driving in 23 RBIs.
